I qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) from Newcastle upon Tyne
Polytechnic in 1989. I currently work as a Senior Community Paediatric OT in London. I have
approximately 11 years NHS experience in Neurology (paediatric and adult). This has been
extremely varied and has included the following positions:
Adult
Clinical Specialist in Neuro-Sciences Wakefield. Responsibilities included managing a small
team of staff and ensuring provision of a quality OT service to a Neurology and Neurosurgical
ward, a rehabilitation unit and outreach services.
Senior Clinical positions in two hospitals, which specialise in Neurology, Neuro-surgery
(including Brain Injury) and rehabilitation.
Paediatric
Senior Clinician in a Regional Child Development Centre, Leeds.
Senior Clinician working in Special Schools in Leeds.
Senior Clinician working in a day centre for children under the age of 7 years with
neurological disorders (mainly cerebral palsy)
In addition I have also worked as an Occupational Therapy manager in a specialist hospital in
London and also as a Clinical Audit Co-ordinator. I have attended and presented at many courses.
I am trained in Sensory Integration and the Adult Bobath Technique. I am a member of the Sensory
Integration network (UK and Ireland) and the National Association for Neurology OTs
