I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1994. Since then I have gained experience in neurological rehabilitation, working in neurosurgery and acute neurology to inpatient and community rehabilitation. My most recent post in the NHS (which I left in December 2005) was as a clinical specialist in neurological rehabilitation, which involved the assessment and treatment of a complex client group, research and teaching. I am interested in the experience of carers, neurological splinting, electronic assistive technology and cognitive rehabilitation.

In addition to the work I do for reach, I am a senior Lecturer in occupational therapy at Sheffield Hallam University teaching the neurology components of the course. I am also studying for a PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University.

I have recently had work published in the area of fatigue management as part of the National Association of Neurological Occupational Therapists forum and have acted as an advisor for a national group of physiotherapists who are developing guidelines for extended scope of practice.

I have presented at national and international conferences on my academic and clinical work to date and have recently submitted two articles for publication in international academic.
