I qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1990. Since this time I have
chosen to specialise in the area of neurology. The experience I have gained has been in regional
acute neurology and neurosurgical units, a brain injury unit in the USA which specialised in the
management of behavioural difficulties and more recently as a clinical specialist in a team
responsible for the co-ordination of services and treatment of patients with complex
neurological disabilities. I have worked as part of a clinical team assessing and prescribing
wheelchairs and specialised seating and currently work on a neurology rehabilitation unit both
with inpatients and outpatients. I am a committee member on both the regional and National
Association of Neurological Occupational Therapists.
